Is it true cows aren't really herbivores?

Yes, I know cows eat grass and that kind of stuff. But it only eats plants to feed the symbiotic bacteria in one of its 4 stomachs. The cow digests the bacteria, and that is where cows really get their sustenance from, not the plants. In a sense a cow farms bacteria just like how humans farm cattle.
