Need some car help with a mercedes?

I am about to buy a 2004 Mercedes-Benz C230, and i would just like to know whether or not this model was a reliable one or not, also i would like to know how much mileage can be put on it. I am buying a pre-owned one with about 77k miles and i've been told that Mercedes engines are bulletproof and can live to about 160-180k miles. But i mainly want to know the reliability of this car, i know that maintenance and what not cost a lot of money because it is a German car and the parts cost more and what not. Also the final thing i would like to know is if this model was made in Germany or America.
